Rubio - Keep women in subservience

From Daily Kos

-----------Here's Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida to show us how it's done:

"Today marks the tragic anniversary of one of America's most blatant instances of judicial activism that paved the way for the destruction of innocent unborn life. Since this decision, tens of millions of our nation's unborn babies have been denied the chance to celebrate a birthday, begin kindergarten or go on to contribute their God-given talents to our world.
"As a U.S. senator, I am privileged to serve in a position that allows me to fight for the lives of the unborn. I will continue to fulfill my duty to fight to reduce the number of abortions. As with many of our nation's most important debates, the battlefield of this issue is in the hearts and minds of the American electorate, and I pray that we can one day live in a society that fully cherishes every life from conception until death."

Good job, Senator, that's exactly the kind of utterly meaningless rhetorical bullshit we've come to expect from your side. But just a few questions:
(1) Where, in the oath of office you took, did it say you have a "duty" to do anything about abortion? There's that "uphold the Constitution" thing, but to say that duty includes anything about waging a war on women's reproductive rights is a bit of a stretch. Please explain.

(2) Where is the research that shows defunding women's health care and even trying to block access to birth control somehow reduces the number of abortions? There's plenty of research that shows increased access to health care reduces abortions. There's plenty of research that shows how legitimate sex education-not that pseudoscience "just say no for Jesus" stuff-reduces unwanted pregnancies, which reduces abortions. But what scientific study did you read that tells you stripping women of their rights reduces abortions? Please explain.

(3) Are you pregnant? No? Then maybe you could shut the heck up and get back to defending the actual Constitution, not the one you and your pals created in your fevered little brain.
