Paul Ryan's Lies...

...at least some of them.

Republicans still populated by the nation's racists.

Those Republicans are some classy people...

...and not the least bit racist (snort).

An attendee at the Republican National Convention in Tampa on Tuesday allegedly threw nuts at a black camerawoman working for CNN and said “This is how we feed animals” before being removed from the convention, a network official confirmed to TPM.

Acerbic political images and commentary

Republicans believe in, and support, programs that will result in corporate domination of the U.S.

War - there are nothing but negative consequences.

So, so many of the Republican voters are voting against their own interests under the unproven theory that once government help is eliminated, the wealthy will come to their aid.

Who is Todd Akin?

Does government get blamed for problems created by the private sector? Case in point - the crash of 2008? Think about it.

Liberals are a generous sort of people.

Republicans support a supply-side economic policy which really makes little sense - why will the wealthy create jo0bs if no one has any money to buy the products and services they produce?

A Romney sleepfest.

Robert Kennedy talks about extremists.

Republican tax policy for 2013 and beyond.

Romney attacks Todd Akin

President Obama addreses the severity of rape.

In the 2012 GOP Platform

Face it, GOP - knowledge is your enemy - it sheds light on the darkness of your lies and misinformation.

Police the universities for liberal bias. “Ideological bias is deeply entrenched within the current university system. Whatever the solution in private institutions may be, in State institutions the trustees have a responsibility to the public to ensure that their enormous investment is not abused for political indoctrination. We call on State officials to ensure that our public colleges and universities be places of learning and the exchange of ideas, not zones of intellectual intolerance favoring the Left.”

Tom Brokaw said in on MSNBC about Mitt Romney

“This is the most inauthentic candidacy I’ve ever seen, I must say. We used to talk about the woodenness of Al Gore. I mean, Al Gore looks like a stand-up comedian compared to this guy.”

Some great little quips about the RNC Convention

From a fellow I follow on G+...

Dave Pacheco said these things 8/29/2012

Clearly all these immigrant family success stories are meant to highlight the GOP's welcoming attitude towards immigrants as long as they time travel to four generations ago. Door's closed now, m'hijo.
Instead of "We Built It", the RNC slogan should be "We Broke It, So Now We're Buying It"
Just remember how many people in that convention center don't believe in evolution, and you'll understand how I feel about their cognitive capacity to solve complex problems.
So did everyone enjoy all the speeches from government employees last night saying the government never helped them build anything?

Focusing on religion

Again, the focus on religion in this blog is due to religion's immense power over politics in the U.S. and our need to put our faith in facts and science...

Just explaining the uselessness of religion.

Religion somehow has come to represent the mistreatment and intolerance of anyone but you. Just wait until it is YOUR turn.

If this is God's will for some people, it looks like this "God" you worship never gives some people a chance.

Religion attracts some pretty sick people.

People of faith want to demonize atheists - but just think about it.

A great metaphor for religion.

Would you torture and murder your son/daughter for ANY reason? My guess would be anyone doing this today would be arrested and put in jail or executed. But, I guess, not if your name is God.

Stephen Hawking is a scientist and has little regard for religion.

The Catholics control the minds of so many innocents who follow without question

The Catholic doctrine.

More political stuff for you to consider

Mitt wouldn't be Mitt without America - Stephen King

A metaphor for the Republican party in Congress today.

There's a method to the madness of Republicans wanting to privatize Social Security.

I'd guess that Romney has a lot of things to hide.

It's important that you get registered and vote!

Enforcing poverty on people is not more than torture.

Paul Ryan has been illegally using music from Rage Against the Machine without paying royalties or getting permission.

Put Romney's tax rate into perspective.

The Republican National Committees commitment to destroying women's rights.

The U.S. needs to commit time and money to its infrastructure before it costs a lot more to replace rather than repair.

Here's a great metaphor for the Republican economic theories.

When the Republicans talk about creating jobs, don't forget to consider THESE issues.

Seems like a reasonable quote...

"The media is distracting you by wasting time focusing on irrelevant issues that I don't care about, and ignoring the very important issues that I care about!"

An important message from The Newsroom

The Newsroom - last episode of the season - on HBO

Time for more political images and commentary

Republicans are too busy getting rich at the expense of the poor.

The GOP wants to blame Obama for increasing deficits, but the two biggest contributors to the increasing debt are the Bush tax cuts and two unfunded wars started under GW Bush.

Supply-side economics - about as successful as drinking and driving.

Family research council is neither family centered nor is it doing any legitimate research.

The Republicans don't believe in science and that influences how they see women.

It's not gay people who have the problem - it's you, Mr. Intolerant.

The Federal Government, states, local government and even schools lose out on incredible sums of money because property owned by religious organizations is not taxable.

GOP as pictured in the Wizard of Oz.

Republicans encouraging rape? What sort of warped sense of values do they have?

Wall Street is rooting for Mitt Romney for President - what does that tell you about which candidate YOU should vote for.

The GrandOld Party has little good to say to, or about, women. Just listen.

Some things that Paul Ryan adds to the Republican ticket.

Focus on religion...

Because religion has become such an integral part of the American political discussion, understanding it is an important part of this blog.

Today, anyone claiming to be the son-of-God, born of himself and a virgin, would be in the psych wing of the local hospital.

I think it was a barbecued rib.

Atheism is not a religion - it is not a belief - it is just the knowledge that religion is wrong.

Religion - it is your right to believe - and your right to be wrong.

Some 1500 years ago Magellan knew that religion was a crock.

I personally do not inflict pain and suffering on those I love, but then again, without creating fear, religion would have little to sell itself to the masses.

The Biblical conflicts have no reasonable solutions - it is not fact, but fiction written by dozens of different primitive people.

Religion is forcing itself into more and more classrooms as American ignorance climbs and climbs.

The caveman competes with God.

Tyson points out that religion is just an excuse for ignorance.

"In God we trust" is a modern, Chirstian, right-wing-made concept - it did NOT come from the founding fathers and it did NOT come about because America is God's chosen land.

Being right about religion can prove to be difficult.
