Moving Forward
You don't have to be Democrat and you can even be Republican - you've just got to have some brains to see that working together can produce some positive results for all of us. We all benefit when we work for the good of mankind instead of the good of our rich, entrepreneurial friends. As I've noted before in this blog, I love it when positive, forward looking actions are constructed and acted upon. Good for California.

California, as the world's 12th-largest greenhouse gas polluter, simply bypassed the foot-dragging Bush administration in adopting its own environmental policy in line with reigning international standards. The state is set to cap its carbon-dioxide emissions by 2020 at 1990 levels -- an eyebrow-raising 25 percent reduction. Mandatory reductions come into effect in 2012. Under the new law, the California Air Resources Board will monitor greenhouse gas emissions and set policies for carbon credit trading.
